Self-perception, how we see ourselves, is one of the single most important factors that determine success and happiness in this world. The mind is constantly imposing limitations on itself. This could possibly be a vestige of some internal self-preservation mechanism perhaps useful to a cave man a very long time ago. Whatever it is, it is holding you back.
Our entrainment therapy can help with this. Of course, self-discovery is a lifelong process, but there is no time like the present to get started on the journey to a better you. The Great Earl Nightingale said it as well as anybody could when he said these words: “You are what you think about”. When you observe your family and friends interacting there is often an individual present who seems unconcerned about whether or not others are judging him and who clearly gets along without worrying about the small things that happen around them in that particular group. Confidence ultimately creates opportunities for success and with each new success we become more confident. Success breeds success, reinforcing itself with each new achievement. When you are not actively engaged in mind entrainment exercises, you should try on a daily basis to employ these confidence boosting techniques and methods:
- Understand that self confident people perceive themselves as able to achieve those things they set out to do and this perception creates reality in their lives. Yes, perception becomes reality. Think it so to make it so.
Start out with small and modest goals and work your way up toward more difficult challenges. Build up your great castle of confidence one brick at a time.
Surround yourself with positive, confident, and successful people. Spend time with them and draw from them a strong dose of positive energy. This will become very habit forming after a while, and this is one habit that you want to continue. When the time comes to pay back all the positive energy you have been borrowing all along, clear your debt by offering your sincere and needed encouragement to somebody who has in the past encouraged you when you needed it, or simply to somebody who needs it right now.
Self-confidence is not something that is obtained overnight. For some of us, past struggles and personal problems have caused us to lose our confidence. Rebuilding it takes time, work, and determination. Understand that confidence is really a full understanding of our own limitations. When we eliminate from the equation everything that we know we cannot do, then whatever remains is our full potential!
Practice relaxation techniques. Lie down or sit comfortably in a quiet place. Breathe slowly. Close your eyes. Scan your body, consciously relaxing any tense muscles. Imagine your upcoming challenge. Visualize yourself meeting it with confidence.
Develop the ability to make direct eye contact with everyone you meet.
Break down difficult to do tasks into a series of smaller steps and work on them one step at a time. Remember, you can eat a whole cow if you want, but it can only be done one bite at a time.
Finally, always remember to have an attitude of gratitude.
